Today, I am thankful for my husband.  He loves the Lord and he loves his family.  He loves us enough to make sure that we are part of a fellowship with other believers.  To me that says more than anything else about love.  When important things are taken care of, you know you are truly loved and cared for.  There have been times that we did not have a church home.  He would pick out a sermon on the computer for us to listen to and talk about.  Most often it was a Francis Chan sermon.  He prays with me for our families and friends.  He works very hard at a full time job and then comes home to another full time job here on the farm.  He is gentle, sweet, tender and funny.  He has provided for us well in the 34 years we have been married.  We have not always been best friends, but we are now.  He is always willing to help or just to listen.  We were riding in the car the other day and a song came on that was played at my Mom’s funeral.  Most of the time when I hear it, I can sing along, but I have been missin’ my Momma something fierce.  I ended up in tears.  He patted my leg and told me he loved me and let me cry. That was what I needed right then.  I am truly blessed with this man that God gave me.

Now it is your turn.  What are you thankful for.  Leave a comment and if you want to participate with your blog, use the Mr. Linky widget below.

  1. I am so thankful for my wonderful husband of 38 years! I am also thankful for my awesome 19 yr. old daughter who is working at Camp Barnabas this summer. Camp Barnabas is a camp in Missouri for children and young adults with a variety of disabilities, including autism, Down’s Syndrome, seizure disorders, cerebal palsy, etc. She has volunteered previously, but this year she is on staff as a photographer. I am so thankful she has the heart from God to minister to all these wonderful young people!

  2. I have shingles and am glad that my husband helps me with applying salve. I am also thankful for the doctor who knew how to help me get rid of shingles. PTL
