Chocolate Peanut Butter Deluxe Pie

Our family is packed full of people with some pretty serious chocolate obsessions – myself included. 😀 If there are any chocolate lovers in your life, here’s the perfect recipe for you: Chocolate Peanut Butter Deluxe Pie! Completely creamy chocolate goodness, with a generous drizzle of peanut butter, and a surprise hint of cinnamon in the crust…, so good….

Chocolate Peanut Butter Deluxe Pie


1 1/4 cups of crushed cinnamon graham crackers (there are many organic graham cracker options on the market, as well as a multitude of recipes to make your own!)
1 cup dehydrated cane crystals, plus 3 Tablespoons
2 sticks (1 cup) of butter
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1 can sweetened condensed milk (Here is a website with great recipes for homemade sweetened condense milk, made with either honey, sucanat, or raw sugar)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 egg yolks
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter

Preheat your oven to 350*. In a small bowl, mix together the crushed cinnamon graham crackers and 3 tablespoons of dehydrated cane crystals. Melt 1 stick (1/2 cup) of butter, and pour over the cracker/sugar mix. Mix together until moist. Pat into a pie dish, and bake for 8 minutes.

Set the crust aside to cool, and then preheat your oven to 375*.

In a medium saucepan, melt the remaining stick of butter over medium heat. Add 1 cup of dehydrate cane crystals, cocoa powder, and sweetened condensed milk, and stir constantly until it comes to a boil – about 8-10 minutes. Boil for 1 minute, continuing to stir constantly. Remove from heat, and add the vanilla extract.

Separate your eggs, and beat the yolks lightly. Beating the slightly cooled chocolate mixture quickly, slowly pour in the egg yolks. Once completely blended, pour the mixture into the cooled pie crust. Bake for 40 minutes, until toothpick comes out just about clean (it’s OK if there are a few spots of chocolate). Set aside to cool.

Once the pie is cooled, melt the peanut butter. Using either a spoon or a small freezer bag with a corner clipped, drizzle the peanut butter all over the pie. Allow to set, and serve.
